Where in Tusk does he not sing, but speak lyrics that are cliche, painfully literal, and borderling egotistical? He also doesn't play an out of tune guitar on Tusk. Well that's notreally true. But it was more charming on Tusk.

I still like the song alright, but I respectfully disagree with the comparisons to Tusk

that's a kind of stupid thing to say. I love tusk but don't really like not too late and I don't think they are that similar. and I get Lindsey as much as others. that's a kind of arrogant thing to say really.

agreed...as it is an equally arrogant thing to say that Not Too Late doesn't match with what Lindsey's trying to achieve.

But I can get along with Tusker. Welcome, by the way. Tusk wasn't very good received, either. I say that NTL isn't crap, but heartfelt. Everybody else may say something different. Time will tell. Like with Tusk....

I 'get' not too late, I just don't particularly like it. It's my least favourite track on a CD I otherwise love and no amount of waxing lyrical about its qualities by anyone is going to make me like it more if it just doesn't quite grab me.

Funny, but I have to defend Tusker here. Your examples miss the point. Those songs have never been flagships for those two songwriters, and were definately not defining the musical approach they were going for at that moment. I understand the logic of Tuskers arrogant preassumption, because Lindsey uses NTL as a flagship for his so called "musical vision" of this new album. He did that with "Tusk" too.
