Default The Heart of the Matter...

This song has been on my (no pun intended) heart a lot lately. I took the full version and cleaned it up. Also the song starts to fade around the last 25 seconds. There's some pretty little guitar licks that weren't really audible before as well as Henley's final plea... "I've been tryin to get down... to the heart of the matter"

Enjoy!

I’m sure Mike Campbell would be delighted to hear his guitar playing more prominent the mix. It sounds great! I’ve never understood why this song gets so little attention – it has, in my opinion, some of the best lyrics ever written. Most people have experienced these emotions and the way Henley encapsulates it all in 5 minutes is genius – it really is. My favourite bit is the bridge where he sings ‘There are people in your life etc….’ It just brings the whole thing together. Thanks for posting.

Such a good, sad song Brandon. I've always liked it.

I agree it is such a great song!! Love it....NY Minute is too as is Sunset Grill/Boys Of Summer/My Thanksgiving/Inside Job....I only wish he'd release another full solo LP with his own written songs not covers like he's talked about.....nothing yet or at least nothing I've heard about at all.......not like he needs the $$ time will tell.....
