Default Demo clarification

Most demos posted as "demos" are actually just working versions (or studio outtakes) of the songs. Many of the so called FM demos you can hear the finished drums. vocals etc...that made the record. Demos are completely different versions with bare instrumentation and for the most part are always re recorded. Just thought I would clarify!

You say tomato, I say tom a to
I totally get your point. But some demos have all instruments and vocals. Some demos are broken down with just vocals and a few instruments. But there are demos that are full songs with arrangements too.
"Working versions" of songs is a very vague description and can sometimes be classified as a demo I have never heard anyone say bring me the "working version" of the song so we can work on it

Within the FM online community I usually see the various studio takes labeled appropriately as "outtakes" or "takes." I can't recall an instance were they've been called demos except for maybe their inclusion under "demos" as a catch-all term to refer to the unofficial recordings passed around by fans, which I was under the impression was just for ease of reference. I think most are aware of the difference.

Demos can certainly be recorded with a full band, too. Demos are [obviously] just demonstrations of a song to share with people not intended to be in final form. Whether or not they were recorded in the studio, at home, with just one instrument, with 12 instruments is irrelevant.
