Tips for getting decent seats??

Or are they all gone by now? I've pretty much accepted the fact that I won't be sitting in the first 5-10 rows. I checked out the pre-sale tickets and they were crap. So does that mean all the other seats on the floor have all been sold out? I'd ideally like to be on the floor at my venue (either Inglewood or San Diego), in one of the first three sections.

Any tips from veterans? I saw them once during the SYW tour and again last year--I was in the nosebleeds both times and would really like to move on up this year! Thank you in advance!

you can keep searching , but between 3 - 5 consecutive searches TM may block you for 24 hours , it's not like a few years ago the game has changed BUT it's not impossible , a good percentage goes directly to Platinum seats ,vip packages and to resellers . So you either search or pay for them ..GOOD LUCK

It's a risky game, but the way I've always gotten good seats is to wait until they drop- usually 2 weeks-2 days before a show. Last minute good seats that are either held back, or aren't used by radio stations/etc are released sometime in the 2 weeks before the shows. So if you aren't finding anything you like right now, you can always hold off.

I don't do this for FM but have done it for other big shows. It is the best way. This tour will be a bit tricky since it is unique with Christine. Interest in his show will be high, so scalpers will grab a lot of tix.

^ Listen to this advise. Generally the best seats I've ever got including 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th row were bought anywhere from 2 weeks before the show or at the very last minute standing at the box office window at the venue. Be patient you will eventually find a great seat.

This is risky but I've done it a couple of times: Stand outside the door at the venue and see if anyone has an extra unwanted ticket. I got a free ticket this way to see Cyndi Lauper in Lauderdale last year, and also got a VIP Row 7 ticket for Cheap Trick at less than 50% face value a few months back in Sarasota, FL. This generally works best for 1 ticket rather than for 2 or 4.

The lower bowl seats are very good too, if you are in the first few sections.

If you can be in the first row of one of those, I guess that's pretty good, no one in front of you and close enough to see the performers without being dependent on the monitor.

Last year I got extremely lucky! About 3 weeks out I went on ticketmaster for Pittsburgh just to look (I already had seats 18 rows back). They had only 2 platinum seats left and the price had dropped to $20 less than standard floor seats. I ended up with 4th row seats. Best part was when the lights went down I jumped up to place my arms on the stage right under Stevie's mic and never moved the entire show (got to play Lindsey's guitar)! It is just a waiting game mixed with luck. Also that was my third set of seats I bought for that show. If you find better don't be afraid to get them. I was able to sell both the other sets in less than 1 hour at face value on craigslist.

I remember the days of buying tickets at department stores and just lining up for hours to buy in person. Then they went to the lottery system at those locations. I miss the cool designs on old concert tickets. I have every stub since my first concert in 1977.

Yes, I remember that. I also remember buying tickets over the phone. You would have to wait on hold for hours. Sometimes I would coordinate it with friends and whoever got through first would get the tickets. I would get my mom's credit card.

I know people don't want to use Stubhub, but if you do, keep looking and wait for the odd ticket to come up. At first you can only buy them in pairs, but as time wears on and people have made purchases in different numbers, you will see that they have 3 or 5 tickets available, instead of even numbers. That's when you swoop in and get the single ticket.

I went to the 2009 show in Dallas, AA Arena, my seat was on the floor level, concert stage (the middle aprox), I remember (and I posted that year) I saw people standing near the stage, so I stood up and walk with my margarita to the edge of the stage, just to see how is to be there.. but I stayed... and stayed.. and nobody said me anything, and the lights turned off and then Fleetwood Mac appeared and I saw the whole show there, I could even touch Lindsey shoes!!

I know that's not fair for people who bought premium seats, but I remember I didn't feel guilty cause I did want to buy one, but that year premium seat sale wasn't allowed to foreign credit cards.

So, that's just a tip, if you go to Dallas show, you could probably be in first row even if you don't get first row seat, they didn't control it. However I don't know this year.

And in NYC, MSG, I was seated in upper level but I saw seats well very controlled and they didn't allow to get far from your seat or stand near the stage (1997).

I wonder if Ottawa wil sell well. We just had Bluesfest Tickets go on sale and they were enough in terms of price so I wonder if people wil be willing to part so quickly with more cash. I think this show will sell better closer to the date of the show.
