there aren't anymore rows available closer than 11th row, & today i saw that ticketmaster was having a 2 for 1 for 37.50 on some of the tix for the Omaha show~

my friend Tom said the show has sold very well~

If you take a look at the offer, you'll see that the 2 for 1 tickets are hardly nosebleeds, and are better than over half the seats that were made available (meaning I'm not counting behind the stage). Its hardly the "last 1000 nosebleeds"- its more like desperately trying to fill the last ~4000 lower bowl tickets by discounting them 65% from their original price.

I have perspective; I can see how the venue might think this show is successful in certain ways, but its ridiculous to think that the promoter would feel as such by offering such deep discounts on quality tickets.

Hey Luke, you seem to know alot about how this tour is doing. How about sharing which upcoming shows are selling the best? Oakland maybe? That's the show I will be attending, and they usually draw a pretty big crowd in their Bay Area performances.

They're doing okay- if they were playing only Oakland OR San Jose, the show would be sold out clean. There's no chance they would ever cancel either show, if only because of the band's connection to the area. Oakland had a $25 ticket offer a week ago or so, and I've gotten two emails in the last month offering comps.

I'm actually surprised at how well Sacramento is selling, especially for a Monday night

Bay Area always has good attendance for FM. Somajoseph I will be there in Oakland on Wed. Section F (floorseats)

Ok so I bought my full price tickets months ago for Omaha. Went just now to check out what's left on Ticketmaster. I searched for full price tickets and it came back with main floor row 2!!!! I'm screwed because I paid the same price for 1st balcony seats in the center of the auditorium. But those of you who were smart enough to wait until the last minute - go get your tickets now. I had to retry 3 times before I got main floor row 2 so give it your best shot!

Fleetwood Mac's back, having a 'good time' on the road

After a lengthy time in the studio and a long tour, members of Fleetwood Mac chose to go their own way.

Now, after several years off, the group (Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, Buckingham and John McVie) is together and touring again for its “Unleashed” tour, which stops tonight at Qwest Center Omaha.

The band last performed in Omaha at a sold-out show at the arena in 2003, one of the first concerts after the Qwest Center opened its doors. Last time the band was in town, it was promoting the release of its album “Say You Will.” Because Fleetwood Mac hasn’t released an album since then, this year’s tour has a greatest hits theme.

Many of those hits came from the band’s “Rumours” album, recently released as a CD/DVD box set. One of the best-selling albums of all time, it includes songs like “Go Your Own Way,” “Dreams” and “The Chain,” and won the band a Grammy Award for album of the year in 1977. It’s ranked No. 25 on Rolling Stone’s 500 best albums of all time.

Personal drama amongst the group at the time — including a rotating cast of band members, marriages, relationships, divorces and breakups — fueled the creation of the album. In a recent phone interview with band members, Buckingham downplayed the drama.

"I don’t believe that we felt that the songs on ‘Rumours’ in particular were so starkly autobiographical,” Buckingham said. “(It) was, to some degree, revealed to us by our audience, you know, after the fact.”

At the time the songs were being written and recorded, the band also didn’t realize that the songs on the album would touch so many people.

“You know we saw that we had this destiny, and we saw that we had to rise above the personal difficulties,” Buckingham said. “And we saw that the music could actually be, have redemptive power, you know, for us and could be a symbol of that for other people.”

Fleetwood said band members have been discussing making a new album, but they have to get through the tour first. The group is excited to get together and work on this tour, even without a new album.

“We’ve been apart for four years, now we’re back together and we’re having a blast. It’s, like, terrific,” Nicks said.

“What it does is it kind of frees you up to kind of enjoy each other a little bit more as people,” Buckingham said. “The mantra is really more ‘Let’s just have a good time’ and value, you know, the friendships and the history that really underpins this whole experience that we’ve had over these years.”

david was up w/ me for awhile, since i had seats right in front of the goddess~ i was all in black dressed like stevie w/ long blonde hair~ i was one of the very few that got to shake her hand~ oh & i wasn't the drunk blonde who everyone almost beat down for being so drunk & rude~ skank took the mic right off the stage that was on the floor in front of stevie~

ok they tore it up last night & to whoever said the show would be cancelled or wasn't selling, well frankly, bite me~ i barely saw an empty seat if any~ omaha came & the mac conquered~

i have a review to write & i took 115 pics~ i will post soon~ but i am beat~

The band hasn't put out an album in years, but that didn't stop the crowd from celebrating Fleetwood Mac on Thursday night.

The group put on a simple, straightforward performance at Qwest Center Omaha that showcased all its hits for 2½ hours. Fans got a taste of everything, from less famous tunes like "Monday Morning" to smash hits "Don't Stop" and "Go Your Own Way."

Drummer and band namesake Mick Fleetwood introduced band members as the "man with the magic fingers," guitarist Lindsey Buckingham; the "poet" and "first lady," singer Stevie Nicks; and the "backbone" of the band, bassist John McVie.

In addition to her trademark scarves and tambourine, Nicks added a few other flourishes to her wardrobe by changing dresses and
donning shawls throughout the set. Before the set-closing "Go Your Own Way," Nicks left the stage and re-emerged wearing a top hat.

Unlike other veteran rockers, Fleetwood Mac didn't update songs to eliminate '80s-era synthesizers or change its stage displays to include an elaborate video montage or pyrotechnics. And the crowd - most of whom looked like longtime Fleetwood Mac fans - cheered them on throughout the show.

Nicks famously sings "I'm getting older, too," in Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide." But while she and the rest of the band are (she turns 61 in a few weeks), they haven't lost any of their vocal or instrumental chops.

Nicks' voice Thursday night sounded as sultry as when she joined the band in the mid-'70s, and Fleetwood and McVie haven't lost a step.

But most impressive was Buckingham, who put on a display with his guitar work during every song, all while splitting lead vocal duties with Nicks.

Although there were two backup guitarists onstage, Buckingham didn't need them. He played lead guitar for the band throughout the concert, switching styles with ease - finger-picking his way through blues riffs, slow acoustic ballads and loud rocking tunes.

During the show, Buckingham explained that the band members had "said to each other, 'Let's just go out there (during this tour) and have fun. Let's go out there and do the songs that we love.'"

He turned to the crowd and said, "Hopefully those are the songs that you love, too."

Concertgoers also heard some history of the band and got a window into how and why certain songs were written. Like an episode of VH1's "Storytellers," Nicks and Buckingham took turns introducing songs, telling how they were written, how each joined the band and how songs' meanings had changed over time.

The emotional turmoil that fueled the writing of many of Fleetwood Mac's songs wasn't apparent Thursday. Nicks and Buckingham made a point of proving that there was no animosity, taking the stage holding hands, turning to sing to one another during some songs and even hugging in the middle of "Sara."

Members of the band thanked the audience obsessively. Near the end of the concert, Buckingham took a moment to address them: "Omaha, you guys are just great tonight. Thank you all for coming, and good night."

That sucks you are sitting at half court for full price when they sold seats for $38 a few sections down. You won't be able to get on the floor but if I were you I'd try to sit closer to the stage--I bet you can find open seats. The good news is you are going to see a great show!
