Quite an Appetite

[This is from a food blog. Assuming they meant the Dance tour in 1997, I can't see Stevie eating like that in those days. By that time, she was already calorie conscious and intent on getting rid of the Klonopin gain. Sounds like Stevie from a couple of years earlier]

When I was a baby cook, back in 1996, and Fleetwood Mac was doing a reunion tour, Stevie Nicks came into the restaurant (Fog City Diner in San Fransisco) after a show, shall we say a bit messed up. Not quite a chili cheeseburger, Ms. Rhiannon proceeded to order, on one plate, 2 1/4 lb Hebrew National hot dogs, with homemade chili on them, garnished with chopped red onion, "alot of cheese" and sliced scallions...It looked like puke on a plate, but, damn, she ate it all....and signed the kitchen ticket for me....

Yeah, sounds right. Meat and cheese are the main things you can eat on the Atkins diet.

Wow, Fog City Diner. That's not too far from the Financial District hotels, where she has been staying when in SF.

I LOVE Fog City Diner.

It's more North Beach than Financial District though, although everything in the Financial District is closed by 7 or 8 anyways (which is a shame, because she probably would have loved Schroeder's... lol)

Well, hopefully the Fog City Diner stays open late because I'd hate to think Stevie had this meal before the show. I can't imagine doing the Stand Back twirls with a stomach full of chili dogs, beans, onion . . .

It's actually on the Embarcadero. North Beach is nearby, but a few blocks west up the hill. I was just saying it was near the Financial District, and that's where she usually stays when she does a show in Concord or San Jose.

Yeah, Schroeders would have been great for her low carb thing. It's meat galore there!

I know where it is- I just always associate it with North Beach because I've often had late dinners there before going off to Tosca/Mr. Bing's/etc. on Columbus. That, and I always associate Coit Tower with North Beach.

To envision Stevie drinking beer from a 2 liter boot-shaped glass at Schroeder's was enough to make me LOL... I love that place dearly. If you're ever downtown on a Friday around 6 or so, pop in- live polka!

Also, I lOVE that area. Two of my friends used to work at the Bay Club, which is right by the FCD. I used to go there and wait for them to get off work. Great drinks and Great food -- at least circa 1989-94.

That quote was actually from iwannacook. And this person actually corrected the original. BUT STILL! I somehow don't see Stevie walking into a diner in '96. But you never know.
