I bought mine via Amazon Merchants. Still for sale, new or used.
Fleetwood Mac: Mirage Tour DVD

The cover image is incorrect, but my DVD has outstanding video and the audio is good too, not 5.1, but at least stereo 2.0.

you know, this is the one thing i've never had. i have all kinds of rarities, and even an original copy of the tusk documentary, but i've never had the mirage tour vhs or dvd. bummer.

there is a version available on amazon, and it pops up on e-bay as well. it has the tango tour lineup on the cover, but it is in fact the mirage video. i guess i could break down and buy it.. but that error is so blatant.. it kind of throws off my obsessive compulsive need to have everything in my collection in perfect condition. i'd almost prefer a bootlegged copy of it.

anyway.. here's the link, if you could overlook the cover:
http://www.amazon.com/Fleetwood-Mac-.../dp/B0003NRGYW

edited to say: jinx with richard b. buy me a coke.

so by original version do you mean the unedited version? i have the vhs of it but i have heard that the laserdisc version was much longer. If this is true, were there more songs or just more behind the scenes stuff? or both?
i heard the "angel" scene was longer and that is my fave part.

or do you mean "original" as in first print run?

original as in first print run. i couldn't comment on the length differences, because it's the only version i've watched. and it's been a long time... i don't watch it because the picture quality is perfect and i don't want to ruin it by running it through the vhs player. i'm going to put it onto dvd, i just haven't gotten around to it yet.

i need to look into getting the laserdisc version to check that out.

No, laserdisc was the same scenes. However, in recent yrs lots of footage has surfaced that was not used for the VHS/laserdisc.

I still think that's what it is. But even if the company that produced it had legitimate licensing & permission, the DVD was still "ripped" from a VHS source & not the video source (it was shot on video instead of film) used to produce the original VHS. I wonder whether the silver box or the black box was used (the silver being the better picture & sound).

Oh, it most definitely is. But by bootleg, I meant "fan circulated".

Curiosity: this dvd is from Brazil, no? Do they respect US Copyrights? I know many countries don't, but I'm not sure about Brazil.

Definitely get the laserdisc version. It has far superior sound to all the crappy 'bootleg' versions they are selling everywhere. I have the Brazilian version and a version I ordered from Australia (where they promised me 5.1 surround sound) and both just hurt my ears. The laserdisc version, however, utter bliss compared to that crap. My laserdisc version comes with the extra stuff that surfaced here and there, only the sound, though tweaked to get the best result, doesn't match the rest of the laserdisc, but still better than those crappy dvds. Sarah, I can make you a copy if you want.

What other footage has surfaced from recent years? We are talking about the Mirage video correct? I still have the original box from the 80s.

Which laserdisc has the "extra stuff"?

I have the laserdisc released by Pioneer Artists and it excludes Tusk, Rhiannon and Blue Letter which were on the VHS version. It was also edited by switching the order of GYOW and SOTM. On the laserdisc, GYOW is the last track and is after SOTM. It's the other way around on the VHS tape.

they do not respect the US copyrights. I have many cd's from Russia that you cannot tell the difference between the US release and the Russian release, minus the fact that most of the Russian releases are illegal/pirated copies.
