Default Fleetwood Mac News on the Radio

I was just at the gym listening to Big 100.3, an oldies station in the Washington D.C. area. The DJ was introducing "Don't Stop" and mentioned how FM just wrapped up the Say You Will tour and how there is more big news about them.

First, she said that Mick was promoting his new album (ok, we already knew that). She also said that Lindsey is in the studio working on his solo album (come on Lindsey, don't let us down...). AND FINALLY (hope this isn't old news) she said that there are talks of FM doing a summer tour with the Eagles!!

Well, to me, this is good AND bad. First of all, I would LOOOVVE to see FM on tour again (wouldn't we all?). Secondly, I like the Eagles (not nearly as much as FM, but hey, they're alright). BUT, this means we'll be competing with those crazy Eagles fans for good seats. Plus, I don't know if I'll ever climb out of the debt I'm in from the SYW tour.

Anyway, just thought I'd pass on that little tidbit.

And tickets start at only $999.95, for the lawn seats!

Yeah, it would be a good show, but they say a lot of things on the radio that turn out to be wrong. I'm betting this is one of them.

Paula

PS - I'm still pissed about when a local station announced that Stevie would be coming to my area on the TISL tour (even gave a date & venue) but it was never made official & never happened.

I like the Eagles and of course I love FM but haven't they toured enough for right now? I would love to see a Lindsey tour and hear some new music from Lindsey and Stevie instead. And of course the tickets would be a million bucks apiece.

Haha, my thoughts exactly.

I agree; Fleetwood Mac has toured enough for the time being without putting out more new material. I'd rather see them on hiatus for a little while if it means new group and/or solo albums. Somehow I don't see Lindsey being thrilled about the idea of a nostalgia tour with the Eagles.

Hey, maybe we can ask John if there's any truth to this .

I must be in the minority then. I would love to see FM and the Eagles together! Love them both! But then I was also happy to see Stevie in stage with Sheryl when I know plenty of fans weren't. I dread to think what the tickets would cost tho

I remember Linds commenting very briefly about this in some SYW promotion. He sounded less than enthused and spoke about it in what sounded like a sarcastic tone to me. He said something about "people" wanting them to tour with the Eagles, I got the impression he was talking about the white shirts at the label. I seriously doubt he would ever agree to it. In fact all their egos are so big, Henley's first and foremost, I just can't see any of them agreeing to it.

I recall this as well. I think there's more of a chance of Lindsey's solo album actually coming out (Ha!) than an Eagles/Mac tour. I think Lindsey is cordial because he's older now but can you actually picture him having to deal with Henley on a daily basis? How would they agree on billing...would Fleetwood Mac be listed first...Eagles...how many songs would each group play...etc. Hell, Fleetwood Mac fought amongst themselves making SYW and i'm sure, touring as well. Can you imagine two bands bringing all of their issues together?

I can see us asking John this in the Q&A and him laughing his ass off at the prospect of them all being on stage together.

Yeah, but the majority of fans who bitched about Stevie and Sheryl did it for completely asinine and ridiculous reasons. They were just mad because Sheryl Crow was involved in Stevie's music and that it wasn't just Stevie 24/7. None of them even wanted to give her any credit for working wonders on Stevie's album. I shudder to think what it would have been like if the whole album was in the hands of John Shanks.

Yet they all rushed out to buy "C'mon C'mon" because Stevie was on the title song and was inaudible on Diamond Road.

I loved seeing Sheryl with Stevie. But then again, I am a big Sheryl fan. She isn't the most dynamic stage presence on earth movement wise, but her voice sounds great and she is so damned attractive I can barely stand it. I just love looking at her

I can't say that about any of the Eagles !

If that ever happened, I'd slit my wrists. Talk about the ultimate cash grab. And I can hear a medley of "Eyes of the World" and "Hole In the World" right now.

Oh man what a cheap greedy oldtimer crap that would be. Let's commit mass suicide please!

Lindsey should release his solo thing and tour with it or go on with the next project. But please leave that ridiculous rumour stand as what it hopefully is- a wrong rumour
