To be fair, a best of retrospective for an artist like Linsey solo is going to sell more anyway. An album of new material released in the midst of a scandal benefits from the publicity.

For example, I doubt anyone would put “Heroes Are Hard To Find” above “Mystery To Me” or “Bare Trees,” but that’s the one that cracked the Top 40.

“Fleetwood Mac” was selling at the same pace as the previous albums initially. Then “Over My Head” came out, however, it wasn’t until news came out that the McVies were divorcing and Stevie and Lindsey were having problems that the album skyrocketed.
