To be honest, that sounds like so many days that I'm not sure which one you're referring to... but what usually happens is either:

1. Somehow it miraculously works out (more often than you'd think)
2. the trial/inquest/other torture is adjourned/postponed/settled-last-minute (or there's yesterday, where the only reason I wasn't thrown into a trial for which I knew nothing in Part X (the "speedy trial" part) was because they didn't have a judge sitting in Part X that day!), or
3. Mark (my boss) decides he wants to do it after all, instead of leaving it to me.

I've yet to actually do a trial (thank god), though I think I'm going to be stuck with an inquest when my boss goes on vacation next week...
