I was born in Manhattan.
My mom's ethnic background is primarily Germanic, ancestors from the Essen area. Also, one
of my Great-great grandfathers was Belgium's ambassador to Ceylon and one of my Great-great grandmothers came from Switzerland. All those folk are from my mother's father's line... My mother's mother's line is American "Old" German...with a drop of Welsh blood - Mayflower Welsh blood. I too, can be a member of that "wonderful" organization Daugher's of the American Revolution.
My father's ethnic background is primarily Slavic. Granny's people came from the Minsk area
(present day Belarus. However, one of her mother's great grandmother's came from Siracusa Sicily. I am therefore 1/64 Sicilian
Gramps' people were what was known as Rusyn/Ruthenian/Galician what some refer to today as Ukranian.
I consider myself to be 1/2 German 1/2 Slavic with a few drops of Celtic/Latin blood for spice
