IMO both versions sound great but the second one is a little closer to the album vocal which is probably why they went with that. I do remember Toronto radio giving the performance a rave review, being that it was in the height of my fandom his exact quote was " I didn't expect to be blown away by her...she sang perfectly! I still enjoy watching this performance as it was great, albeit she was very stoned at the time.
