In 1943, Christine McVie, former vocalist and keyboards player with "Fleetwood Mac," was born in Birmingham, England. McVie, whose maiden name was Perfect before she married John McVie of "Fleetwood Mac," was with the British blues-rock band "Chicken Shack" before joining "Fleetwood Mac" in 1970. She and vocalist Danny Kirwan moved "Fleetwood Mac" away from its blues band beginnings towards a more melodic rock sound. But the band's onstage focal point was Stevie Nicks, whose sex symbol image helped sell 15 million copies of the 1977 album, "Rumours."
