There’s a new album of new arrangements of old songs. None of us are certain if these will feature new vocals. They might be instrumental versions or new arrangements using the original vocals. Christine has not specified either way and the interviewer didn’t ask for a distinction. I’m not sure if she’s being cagey because she wants to underplay the momentousness of full-on new versions (with new vocals) or if she is trying to divert us from the underwhelming possibility that these are either instrumentals or original vocals with fresh accompaniment.
I’m hoping it’s new vocals, new arrangements, but wouldn’t Christine have mentioned what it was like to sing these old songs in new ways? I’m annoyed that the reality (whatever it is) has been talked around.
