So, I salute them (the CDC and the admin.) for stepping up to the plate on this one.
My wish is that they keep on this progressive path and realize that while their abstinence polices are true in the sense that other than shared needle use or some rare accident, you cannot get most STD from a nonsexual encounter - they are not a practical solution and millions will die and/or suffer from a lack of information due to blind adherence to fundamentalist religious beliefs that most do not accept and/or apply in their own lives. Moreover, they have supported the unscientific conclusion that you can get HIV from kissing and other such things. So, hopefully, they are moving on from this unsupported rhetoric and clear pandering to the far religious right.
Anyway, I thought this was worth noting because comparatively so little good comes from these people - that this stood out.
