I don't see LB as much of a blues player either. I wasn't all that keen on his 1980 rendition of "Oh Well" off of the FM Live album. Wretched.
In fact, he was moved from guitar to bass while playing in Fritz b/c his guitar style wasn't a bluesy sound.
The only blues player i'd like to see him play with is Peter Green, just because i think it would be interesting to see LB get blown away while trying to play the blues.
To me, LB's best "bluesy" song is "I'm so afraid"
I think his style would blend better with a guy like Mark Knofler, who uses a fingerpicking style as well. Also, Al Dimeola would be cool.
