I enjoyed this. As much as I love Lindsey and his creativity he also frustrates me as an artist/guitarist. I always wanted him to be more of a guitarist but he has always let his instrument never take over a song. In his eyes, the guitar is only a small part of the song and it should not take over and play along with the total parts of the song. IMHO, the best Lindsey songs are when he lets the guitar take over a bit or at least the guitar is the major part of the song. Interesting he mentions Eddie Van Halen in this interview. Many years ago he also mentioned Eddie and it almost sounded like a swipe as if he relied too much on this guitar playing and the songs were not that great (I am paraphrasing so please don't flame me). He clearly did not mean it as a swipe and I understood what he meant. As a guitarist, even in his solo work, the guitar is not always the lead.
