You're right about the 1989 tour. I saw Stevie at the Great Woods Amphitheater in MA (she did 2 nights), at in Saratoga Springs, NY. Sadly, she was like a zombie on stage.
She had a dead look in her eyes, hardly moved, sang with no emotion, said barely a word (except for band intros), and would disappear after each song to put on a new hat, cape, etc. She did perk up for 'Stand Back' and 'Whole Lotta Trouble' at least.
The shows were well attended, with a lot of gals dressed up as Stevie, and some holding up signs, I remember.
