For some reason, when I heard the Dog Days are Over, I went and downloaded the song very quickly. I thought it sounded new and fresh. Then I saw the video and flipped. When I think of Florence I think of that movie the Fifth Element because there is a futuristic rock element to their music, very modern, yet, very elemental. I think they are on the edge of a new type of classic rock. Her voice just cuts through the air like a knife.
I'm sure that Stevie knows Florence is a fan. Stevie is very smart and she is fighting for the legacy of her band. Glee, Moonlight, Oprah.... She is managing to get her name out there with current trends and Florence is one of those trends. I'm sure she is extremely flattered that Sylvia likes her. It's funny but women in music are still citing Stevie as an influence, instead of a lot of those women from the 90s.
