I DO think that maybe it's only a midwestern thing, hunting mushrooms....
Seriously, it's a springtime RITUAL around here, and I know HUNDREDS of people who hunt them. People sell them to stores(not me, I eat em, cuz they're DELICIOUS), and the stores resell them for $30-40/lb. And I'll pack and freeze any, if I find an abundance.
