I agree with the sentiment of folks who are all for Stevie appearing on DWTS. The more exposure Stevie gets and this new record gets, the better off she will be.
Even if this album doesn't sell millions of copies and put Stevie back on the Hot 100 or the Billboard 200 or whatever, success for this record will not be about album sales. It will be about Stevie putting out a record that she's incredibly proud of, that many of us who have followed her every step of the way since 1978 or 2008 or anywhere in between will be proud of, and Stevie gaining new fans based on this new material or based on their hearing this material and being intrigued enough to go listen to "Dreams" or "Landslide" or "Rhiannon" or "Stand Back" or "Edge of Seventeen."
I also know younger folks who are BIG into Stevie. Like one of my close friends who is young enough to be my son who loves the music like I do. I also have friends in their late teens to early 20s who are also huge fans of hers and probably quote the lesser-known songs even more than the hits.
I've heard that A LOT of the kids nowadays are dying to hear *great* new music, at least based on some of the reactions to "Secret Love." In Your Dreams will be a success if it can bring those kids the great music they crave, whether it's a hit according to Soundscan or not.
