A few of my Southernisms:
- "Route" is pronounced like "rout."
- "Caught" sounds like "kawt" more often than not.
- I address groups of people with "y'all."
- I say "crawfish." Where I come from, "crayfish" will get you some dirty looks, if not a boot upside the head.
- A carbonated beverage, regardless of brand, is "coke." I don't know anyone who calls it "tonic." If you asked me for tonic, I'd think you wanted moonshine.
