I'm a little late to the game as far as my opinion of the sizzle reel, but here goes...
It appears that they had a shoestring budget to work with. That being said, I think they have done an AMAZING job with their limited resources. All the sets, land & seascapes look out of this world! And boy, Stevie's house is exquisite (but then I'd expect nothing less

) and the soft lighting on everyone's faces (especially Sharon & Lori) make the "Moonlight" portion of this documentary very creepy and atmospheric. LOVE IT!
The songs - OMG, I think I'm gonna love "Moonlight", "Wide Sargasso Sea" and "Italian Summer", if in fact those are the actual songs we got to hear. I was never impressed with the demo of "Secret Love" but was blown away by the new version...so I thought it might be the same with "Annabel Lee". I've always loathed the demo. After hearing the snippit on the trailer, my opinion hasn't really changed that much. I'm still not impressed. Of course that might change once I hear the full song, but time will tell.
Also, I woke up this morning with the string arrangement to "Italian Summer" running through my head. It's infectious...and that last note she holds for 4 measures is incredible. Those two things combined gave me goosebumps.
I'm loving what seems to be a recurring theme of "mirrored" imagery (the horse, the girls, Stevie herself) and also the Edgar Allan Poe stuff. I wonder if that will be a thread throughout the entire documentary or just in the Annabel Lee portion. I really can't wait for this album, and seeing this reel makes me EVEN MORE anxious to watch the documentary.
Do you guys think this could be Stevie's "Wall", "Quadrophenia", "Rattle & Hum" or any number of kick ass rock movie/documentary/concept films?
