As a kid my grandfather's business partner was Gean Nicks, Stevie's uncle. When we would go over to his home, Stevie was always there, sitting on the floor playing guitar like the little flower child that she was, singin' away. The image of her playing and singing on the floor will remain with me forever, because she was very pretty and her voice was like gold. Even if I couldn't understand her.
FYI: The stories that Stevie, was a poor suffering artist, living the hippy street life, are mostly untrue. Her uncle was rather wealthy, and she always had a home at his place.
