I'm a Sonny Bono fan, so, I was
required to see the show. I first saw her at the O'Keefe Center in Toronto in 1978 and even then she had a tribute to Sonny in this show with the tv clips and the obligatory
Beat Goes On and
I Got You Babe. So, after 30 years of her shows, I knew there would be a nod to Sonny in the Caesar's Palace set.
What I didn't expect was for them to use footage from their movie
Good Times to play the entire song,
It's the Little Things, which is my favorite Sonny and Cher song. The video they used for Sonny was two stories high at one point and then Cher came out live to make it a duet and I sobbed uncontrollably. I was blown away. Plus, she still did the
de rigueur tv clips,
I Got You Babe and
Beat Goes On medley on top of that.
In the past she used to do a punk rock version of Sonny's song
Bang Bang too. I have problems with her, but I'm sure she did a good job in Burlesque. I don't doubt her there. Michele
