Thank You, SapphireSister, I'm glad to read that, I'm glad that you think so, and I totally agree.
'Spoiled actress' or not, she really got effed over, by her advisers, her doctors, and her attorney (who I think looked on the verge of laughter).
I still believe LL's constitutional rights have been violated by her twice being forced to wear a Scram bracelet, becoming essentially a poster girl for it, when there has been no documented testing of the device, except for by the manufacturer of Scram, who admit that it does have glitches that need to be worked out.
It's not illegal to drink alcohol. 3 years ago, she should have paid a steep fine, perhaps had her license revoked, and/or been placed in a 28 day sobriety program. Instead, she was set up to fail by a too-long probation and she got sicker, though she's been under medical care for a long time.
90 days jail time* plus 90 days in rehab immediately after serving her sentence means that she is all but locked up until next year. She just turned 24 years old, and the thought of what she faces in the next six months is scary, not only the confinement, but the detox and withdrawals are awful. * I agree she will only serve a fraction of the 90 days in jail, but I still think it's all so wrong.
I think a good lawyer would and could have an order for that SCRAM bracelet to be off of her tomorrow, and use the time she was forced to wear it (twice) as time where her personal freedom and or constitutional rights were denied her, and it should be applied to her upcoming jail sentence, negating it.
The judge made a name for herself in this case, yet it's tough because she also could have made a name for herself as someone who was bought off and/or smitten with celebrity. What has happened is that justice has not been served and the young woman is in more danger now than ever. Her state of mind (this is an ill person) and concept of time (6 months seems like 6 years at that age) makes this, to me, a really sad case of 'celebrity' actually being used against a person who is not a hardened criminal, but a struggling and vulnerable young girl.
