When I bought that VIP ticket package for the Unleashed tour, Cory, the woman in charge of giving us the back stage tour and escorting us until the show started gave a trivia quiz to us and she asked how many members of the band there were. The answer was 16. I don't know where she got her trivia information from. I'm sure it didn't come directly from John McVie or anything. Maybe she got it from Wikipedia
. But I sort of think that technically speaking, the band acknowledges that it has had 16 official members.
Of course, Brett Tuggle
has been affiliated with it longer than some of the formal members. Michele
