Stevie released
Rock A Little in November 1985. Of course, I bought it the day it was released, but I also got 4 copies of it on cassette for X-Mas 1985 since everyone knew I was a Stevie Fan.
The reason Stevie didn't release
Trouble in Shangri-la until May 2001, even though it was mixed, mastered and finished at the end of Summer 2000, was because she felt that albums released before Christmas get "lost" after the Holidays. They sell well as gifts but get forgotten after X-Mas, she said in an interview.
That's not to say she wouldn't release a Fall or Winter 2010 album ~ this all seems to be NEW for Stevie, so maybe her reasoning on release dates has changed!
