I voted for Madonna - been a fan since I was 10...a long time ago.
Pop-radio fluff can be nice to listen to on the radio, but I don't want to listen to any of it at home. I prefer a little more substance and a little less glitz:

I like a lot of other less current female artists from the past (Nicks, Wilson, Benatar, etc...), but the list above represents what is current.
Neko Case and Jessie Baylin are amazing.
