Could Black Eyed Peas Bandmates Fergie and Wil.I.Am Become Romantic Rivals and Echo Fleetwood Mac?
Could sexy and sultry Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas be ready to step out on her husband, Josh Duhamel for another woman, British pop star Cheryl Cole?
As rumors have existed for a while now that Fergie's Black Eyed Peas bandmate Wil.i.am has a super charged crush for the recently separated Cole, now there is speculation that Fergie, a self described bisexual, is telling friends that she believes she will sleep with Cole before Wil.i.am does.
Not too long ago, there were rumors that Duhamel had stepped out on Fergie. For her part, Cole is said to be separated because her husband, English footballer Ashley Cole.
While right now there seems to be a whole lot of speculation and crushes going around, the situation could potentially turn much more serious if either Will.i.am or Fergie ultimately starts a relationship, sexual or otherwise, with Cole.
A sexual triangle could potentially wreak havoc on the interpersonal relationships within the Black Eyed Peas in a way that no major pop band has experienced since the well documented love triangles that in many ways was a contributing factor to the ultimate downfall of 1970's super group Fleetwood Mac.
As Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham, the two main creative forces in the group, saw their relationship dissolve, and as Christine McVie and her husband John McVie eventually divorced, the dynamic within the band changed forever and it took years for the wounds to begin to heal. It should be noted too that Nicks began dating Mick Fleetwood, a co-founder of the band, after her breakup from Buckingham, though by most all accounts Buckingham was unaware of this until years later.
Of course, the kind of soap opera that Fleetwood Mac created with multiple inter-band relationships would dwarf two love rivals within the Black Eyed Peas going after the same woman. But, the fact that any potential relationship between Fergie and Cole (who has never said she is bisexual), would add a dynamic to the story that would surely drive a huge amount of publicity.
Factoring in the fact, too, that Cole is still married, and you have the makings of a salacious international story that would command the headlines for months on end around the world.
The upcoming weeks and months will be a very interesting time to monitor the Black Eyed Peas, Fergie and Will.i.am. They've been tremendously successful and gotten along, it seems, reasonably well. But if Fergie and Cheryl Cole become lovers, look out.
