A little additional talk re: the Paul Rogers piece, B 102.7

Paul Rodgers shed some light on his run-in last year with Joe Perry in which Perry threw out an offer for Rodgers to replace Steven Tyler in Aerosmith. Rodgers, who politely refused the offer, does have plans to do some studio work with Perry later this year.
We asked Rodgers if under any circumstances he would ever reconsider the offer to front Aerosmith: "I think not, y'know, really. I've never really joined a band other than joining forces with Queen during which we were playing my songs and their songs. And I did speak to Joe at the awards ceremony in London. Y'know, he discussed some of the problems and we talked about music. I mean, the upshot is that he's gonna be bringing his solo band in support of the Bad Company tour in the UK. I have enormous respect for all those guys and I really hope that they iron out their problems and Aerosmith sticks together because they're such a great band."
Although a team-up with Aerosmith is off the table -- Rodgers recently connected musically with some old friends from London's legendary late-'60s blues scene: "I was just down in Maui and I had a jam session with Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. We just did whatever came to mind -- a lot of blues, actually. I remember watching Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac at the Marquee and clubs all over London way back in the old days when I was very much fledgling and was really absorbed (in) what they were doing. And we did exactly that thing. We just played and jammed. So, y'know, maybe it is on the cards to do something very stripped down and basic."
JUST OUR OPINION
Paul Rodgers teaming up with Fleetwood and McVie is a great idea. Joining the trio was guitarist Rick Vito who played lead guitar for Fleetwood Mac after Lindsey Buckingham left in 1988.
Vito -- a blues virtuoso -- and Fleetwood currently perform in the Mick Fleetwood Band, which heavily dips into the early blues-based Peter Green material. Adding Rodgers to the mix can only lead to good things.
