I have to defend Henley here a little.
Yes, he can be "difficult", but having been a fan for over 20 years now I feel I can say he has definitely mellowed. We have a few contacts with people who work directly for him so we tend to get the Don side of things, but it really seems like Don bends over backwards to appease Frey on a lot of issues. Of course I'm sure if we heard from people who work for Glenn, they'd say just the opposite.
I really can't say I miss Felder all that much in the band. Yes, he's a great guitar player, but I really prefer Joe's playing. It's more organic and not as pristine sounding as Felder's playing....if that makes sense. I'm not a musician.

But for me, the reason I was so upset at Felder's firing, was his guitar playing. For me, he just SMOKES Joe Walsh! Joe plays licks like I play. Nothing really special, that really stands out. Don came up with some BRILLIANT solos. BRILLIANT! That's why I hated to see him go.  |
