Is there even enough time for the cocaine to enter your bloodstream? By what mechanism would it do so? I can understand having cocaine in liquid form injected into the bloodstream perhaps, much the way liquid penicillin is often injected into the fatty tissue of the rear end. But that's a far cry from having powder "blown" into the anus.

I've known of people doing ecstasy pills anally... apparently it hits your blood stream faster and gives you a better high (I wouldn't know
). The colon is kind of like a giant sponge... it absorbs things very well. Hence gay men's susceptibility to the HIV virus (and why 70% of gay men who get HIV are on the "receiving" end). Back in my clubbing days I'd heard of people doing all sorts of drugs in this fashion. I've only ever drank and smoked pot though... so I wouldn't know first hand
