I saw Stevie with Don Henley in Detroit in '05. Once again I had crappy seats but the show turned out to be amazing anyway. Seeing Stevie sing on Hotel California, Last Worthless Evening and New York Minute are still one of my top highlights from seeing her live. When Stevie came out for Hotel California the applause was absolutely nuts. Those two also did Circle Dance which was so pretty. And I'm pretty sure it was at this concert that I told my mom to "shut up" cause she was trying to talk during BATB lol.
Best part of the show was when the nice, older security guard lady let me go up front for Edge. It was my first time seeing Stevie solo and I had never been anywhere near the stage. I was shaking like a leaf lol. Stevie came down right to me and took both my hands. I think I yelled, "Thank you!" and "I love you!" She smiled and said thank you back. By this time my mom had come down too and afterwards we were jumping up and down like maniacs. That is still one of my most exciting moments in my life lol.
After the show my friend and I ran into Chris Nicks. We talked to him for about 5 min. I didn't tell my mom who it was while we were talking to him because I didn't want her to say anything stupid. So when we're walking away I'm like, you know that was Stevie's brother? And she's like, you're kidding me. And she runs back over to him and gives him a hug and she's like, "omg I did not know who you were my daughter didn't tell me and oh my god we just love stevie..." blah blah blah. I almost died. He thought she was hilarious though and he just smiled and laughed and waved at us again and then we left. It was an awesome night.
