Who is the "they" in your sentence? Presumably, you meant the band knowing that LB was the be all and end all. Or, "if it weren't for that musical genius, most of us would never have heard of FM at least on this side of the pond" to quote the original source you referred to and I paraphrased.
Maybe you are objecting to me equating "the be all and end all" with "if it weren't for that musical genius, most of us would never have heard of FM at least on this side of the pond." They sound the same to me. But, if it makes my point clear and if you want, substitute the latter for the former in all my posts in this thread
I disagreed and said most of us would never have heard of FM without the sum of the contribution of all the members. LB was just one part of that and I was pointing out that I do not think the band would take the point of view that "if it weren't for that musical genius, most of us would never have heard of FM at least on this side of the pond."
