I'll try.
From what I read about it (in Rolling Stone), the particular scene they put on The Dance was neither choegraphed nor scripted. Stevie did a very good SS the night before and everyone thought that she wouldn't top that. So when she basically killed Linds onstage, everyone was quite suprised and to a degree even shocked. And Lindsey clearly wasn't happy with it, you see it and he said it, numerous times.

And since it was an outburst, you cannot except Stevie or Lindsey to repeat that night after night on tour. And like I said, as a display of raw emoton it stands out, but it is not a pleasure to watch, at least not for me.
