Were I John McVie or Chris McVie, I'd have gone right along with it. I would have figured, Big deal. We're about to embark on an enormous tour, & we need the airhead to pull in the crowds (& the revenue). So let's highlight her for all she's worth.
In fact, I'd have requested that the writer, Daisann McLane, emphasize Stevie a lot more in the story itself.
