I love Lindsey's music because of the fact that it always seems to be ahead of the trend of the moment. The way he composed GYOW, NGBA etc. showed structures that popmusic didn't have before. His approach on Tusk was even going further. All the indiefolkbands of this moment are inspired by this "lofi-perfection"-approach and alot of male singers of these sort of bands these days resemble him.
It's always the weirdness in his pop-approach that attracts me. The way f*cks with your head in Time Precious Time, the way he dares to scream in Johnny Stew, the way he dares to compose Play In the Rain, the way he punkrocks out on GOS, That's Enough For Me, Not That Funny and The Ledge.
He annoys me AND surprises me with his productionapproaches, I always have to "learn" to listen to him. With that he will always be the "teacher" of my taste and because I always have to adjust to him, made me a listener who is able to listen to things that irk me at first. He broadened my taste contantly through the years and he still does.
