Come on people. Blow the sh*t out of your ears. This cover of Gabriel/Bush's Don't give up proves it. The phoneyness is not only in the outfit. This is deliberately sucking the life out of an emotional duet. Incredible. Not a question of taste. A question of having ears.

just curious what your issues are with the cover.
i love peter gabriel to the point where i almost think he can do no wrong. nothing can compete with the original, but i don't see what's wrong with that cover. i don't love lady gaga, and i've never even heard of the midway state. but saying something is phony is pretty imprecise.
do you think it's overproduced? the original is overproduced.

and i think that vocal was extremely conservative for LG and respectful of the original melody.
in a way, i am playing devil's advocate. i don't get lady gaga, but i am interested in you expressing your music opinions in a more rational way. it gets tiring to hear that so-and-so is phony for no real reason. what are your criteria for "good" music?
