Well, I agree with you there but it's kind of slanted.
We're not talking about a group of people where one is grandstanding and the other three are total wallflowers.

John and Chris are/were more subdued in the way they deliver a performance. That's a given.

Mick, given the opportunity, can ham it up with the best. Luckily, he reins it in for most of the concert.

But, the argument can (and, IMO, should) be made that both Lindsey and Stevie have taken their turns being slightly over-the-top performers. And I think, individually, if you're a fan, that's kind of what you love about each of them. Yes, Stevie has slowed down (and that's what a good many of us have been bitching about lately--that she hasn't done what she's been doing all these years), but there are times when she's in full scenery-chewing mode. Same goes for Lindsey. And, I think the contrast has been really apparent because he still can/is willing/wants to perform in the "old" style and she either can't/is not willing/doesn't want to and has toned it down so that the differences are apparent.

But, really, Lindsey is doing what he's been doing all along. So, should he tone it down to Frank Sinatra sitting on a stool performance level to match Stevie or should he still "bring it," when probably 9/10ths of the audience are there to relive the days of their youth and want/expect to see it even though probably half of that audience doesn't even have the strength to stand for even 3 songs themselves?

Uh...where was I going with this?
I forget! But there's a point in there somewhere.

Oh, yeah. I just don't think he should be criticized now for something he's been doing all along and something Stevie has done herself (and I wish she'd do more of again). I like my FM at the Diva/Divo level.
