I was there!
Unbelievable concert. My ears are still ringing. I am so bad with concert reviews and in-depth analysis, but I'll try something here. For now, THEY ROCKED THE HOUSE will suffice. I was harassed by security at the entrance re: my camera so I had to return it to my car and was actually slightly thrilled that I could just enjoy the show without taking pics.
Highlights for me (in no order): Monday Morning, IKINW, Oh Well, Gold Dust Woman, Stand Back, Storms, ISA, Second Hand News, GYOW and Silver Springs.
-It seemed everyone in the audience was singing along to GYOW
-This man in front/diagonal to me kept shouting "I love You Stevie" and "I Want You Stevie" and "Stevie!!!You're the best" and was totally smashed. It was grating on my nerves because he'd do it at the most random moments, like after a Lindsey solo or during Mick's speech. I mean, really. Then I decided I'd get one up and, after ISA, I screamed "You rock Lindsey: I love you!" and the people in front of me turned around, as if to say that
after the song finishes and the man has just done the most amazing guitar solo ever you can't express some gratitude. Good night!
-I didn't really pay that much attention to SnL dynamics, but they did the
cutest thing I ever saw when walking out after the encore. They locked arms, back to back, and did this wiggle- but Lindsey's face afterward was
precious. He looked like a little boy that just did the funniest thing ever with one of his friends. For that kind of stuff it's worth having a camera...
-They both sounded great. Lindsey's mic was a little loud, so I jumped a little when he came in during Gypsy...
-I think I really don't mind the SYLM. It wasn't totally a delight, but I liked it. World Turning, I've decided, is just a little too tedious for me. But that is my only complaint, really.
-I was very impressed with John McVie because I've always adored his "quiet presence" and he got a VERY loud applause so I'm not the only one. But, really, he does SO much without having to say a word. He's incredible And Mick was a totally cool dude. A little weird, but it's all good. I thought his ending speech was really very kind and conscientious. I've decided I really like him despite his slightly annoying personality. He's a genuine dude and a brilliant drummer. Plus he's developed his own little routine and I have to hand it to him.
- Since I was on LB's side, and he is my dude and all, I have to say he was just
so, so, so amazing last night. I was blown away by that ISA solo (once again) and he was just in a really good mood. He was smiling a LOT during Stevie's songs and was really getting into them. Like Stand Back was funny because he was lip syncing the whole time and was throwing out some pretty passionate "stand back" and "I think I need a little sympathy" lines. At the beginning of one of Stevie's songs, can't recall now, she was really into it with the graceful movements/singing and I glanced at LB and at the moment he was pulling up his pants and I had to crack up. When he was doing one of his speeches, Stevie was having a conversation with John...like, "Yeah, we heard this one already..." Anyway, he was just ON all night. Though, at the beginning, obviously, he was more wild, crazy madman and then slightly close to the end he became a little more subdued. I attribute that to being tired as eff. I'm still trying to remember that this is an older man jumping, running, doing extremely long and complex guitar solos, and still managing to sound SO good. He's just...is it possible to love him more than I already did?
-Stevie looked
SO LOVELY and her hair is gorgeous. I think her dresses are all really pretty She did such a fantastic job with Gold Dust Woman. Loved the entire performance to death. And Storms (stunning), Silver Springs (beautiful). There were a lot of women, in particular more middle-aged than younger, dressed up sort of like Stevie. This one lady towards the front had a pretty cool boho dress and hairstyle. I think that's cool. I had some "Stevie boots" on to represent. When I was walking in, this guy came up to me and told me he loved them. And this little older man told me they were "fabulous" so it's obvious there were Stevie fans looking out for that type of thing.
-The audience was filled with a lot of drunks, but people were seriously having a great time. Cleveland is my hometown, and I think we're a pretty impressive crowd.
FM was incredible. They sounded wonderful, there was energy to spare, and the crowd was eating it all up.
I met no Ledgies.

I'm sad because that's always fun, but maybe next time. David Mn: where were you?!!?? I was lookin' for you! lol!
