It reminds me of how you feel when there's a tragedy in the family and the world goes on as if nothing is wrong while, meanwhile, your life has been changed forever. So, it's nothing big or earth shattering to anyone else. It's small, individual pain, but just as devastating to you as if it had been a national event.

The way Stevie sings the words make me think of that. And Rooms on Fire is great too.
