So, I thought about him all the rest of the way to work and I was crying, but not in a sad way, more like a daydreaming way. I was thinking that the family has already lost Eunice, essentially, because the last strokes have disabled her so much. So, I was thinking that Jean Kennedy would be the last one and what a sad, lonely feeling that must be, even though she has children of her own. The loss of Ted, basically her last sibling, will be devastating.

Anyway, thinking of that all the way to work, then getting to the office and learning that Ted Kennedy collapsed and NOW reading this poem. It all feels surreal.

I had a similar experience today, like you did about Ted Kennedy. This afternoon when I was watching the coverage on t.v. when they announced that Ted Kennedy was there, I was axiously waiting to see him and to see how good he was getting around. It was so great to see him there... he has always looked and reminded me of one of my Grandfathers (my mom's dad)... and then when they said he collasped, I got really concerned... And it was like 3 hours later after all of that happened, then I read Stevie's poem about 5pm... and thought of todays events... and thought Wow... yes, it's kind of surreal... I agree.
