I'm not familiar with Bloomfield's upbringing except that he was Jewish like Peter. Since Michael was american, I can guess that his choice of career was frowned upon by his family. In Peter's case he came from blue collar roots, so a musician was only an upgrade in scale. If you believe Snoot's account it seems Bloomfield had a lot of self-loathing in him, another heroin tragedy.
