Don't think this is exactly what you mean, but
Genesis: A trick of the tail
The surround version is soooo much better than my old vinyl,
the sound improvement is unbelievable.
Now that i think about it,i'm not sure if i've listened to cd version at all.
Sting: ...Nothing like the sun
A great great record and very well recorded LP
Can't really recommend any new acts either,i'm so out of step with any new bands/artists.
Same with recent releases too.
Just counted,from 2007 i have 12 releases,they are all re-releases or archive releases.
From 2008 i have 5 releases
Re-releases/archive releases:
Theme time radio hour with Bob Dylan
Link Wray: Link Wray (it doesn't actually mention if it's from this year, think so anyway)
David Bowie: Live Santa Monica 72
And very unusually for me two new releases from this year:
Lauren Harris: Calm before the storm ( her debut)
Drive by truckers: Brighter than creation's dark
More suggestions, don't know about playin' guitar along to though
Los Lobos:Kiko
Richard and Linda Thompson:Hokey pokey
Slade:Nobody's fools
Ten Years After:Undead
Hot Tuna:Burgers
Rick Nelson:Greatest hits
Jellyfish:Bellybutton
George Thorogood:Live
Curtis Mayfield:Roots
Manic Street Preachers:Forever delayed
