No-one has responded to your post, but I'm sure someone here must do. I understand these things are terribly popular among "young people".
I set up a Facebook page for two reasons. One was to keep in touch with a couple of friends who moved interstate. The other was to give my older daughter an opportunity to be able to contact me without unnecessarily drawing her mother's attention:
