There was no mistake. They were repeatedly told the Niger story was false and they asserted it anyway. That is a lie on their part. Sadly, it had cost the lives of over 5,000 U.S soldiers, and the body parts of tens of thousands more -- not to mention the arguably hundreds of thousands of casualties in Iraq.
