I think Lindsey as
just the guitarist is quite a fungible commodity. It's Lindsey as a producer that they most wanted to keep happy. He was chief organizer on
Rumours, as I believe Ken and Richard would readily attest based on all the
Rumours analysis that's gone on over the years. I think the role he played in making
Rumours paved the way for
Tusk. Without his production on
Rumours, if all he'd done is play guitar and write
GYOW, I doubt he would have had the leverage with the band that would have prompted them to hand him the reigns for
Tusk.
