This movie has four things going for it that
Batman Begins didn't:
1. It's not an origin story, so we don't have to sit through 1 1/2 hours of Bruce Wayne's brooding before he does some actual bat****.
2. I actually recognize the bad guy, and Gads, Ledger looks frickin' scary as the Joker. Seriously, did any casual fans know who the hell Scarecrow was, or Ru'Wafo Nafou or whoever it was that was played by Liam Neeson?
3. This movie actually looks serious and complex, as Batman was intended to be. I mean,
Begins was "sorta" serious, but in the end it just resorted to the old "hero and villain fighting each other on a train" cliche.
4. No Katie Holmes this time. I've seen scratching posts with more charisma than her character in
Begins.
