If he was a normal aging rockstar, I'd say he's doing it to produce freely a solo album that likely wouldn't debut to number 1, to gain some more money for an even safer way of life and to perfom some more times in front of huge audiences. But since, as we all know, he's an undercover monk I answer: for the sake of the art.
